Rocco Rottweiler

Today Rocco got his second vaccine. Nobivac DHP + Nobivac Lepto. Surprisingly to me the vet said that the next one should be on the fourth month instead on the third. Tomorrow I will ask why because all the online information states that it should be on the third.
Go figure!

Yesterday Rocco was playing in the corridor when I heard a terrible noise and alot of dog crying. Unfortunately he managed to get a computer on his front right leg. Read the rest of this entry »

Me and Rocco went to the vet today. He advised me to give him calcium tablets for better growth. So for the next ten days I will be giving him one tablet per day. The vet also advised him to start giving food 5 times a day instead of 4 as it was till now. Read the rest of this entry »

As Rocco will get his second vaccine next week I gave him a pill of Drontal Plus Flavour. It is a medicine against all intestinal worms found in dogs. He liked it and thought it is just food.

In the beginning when I got Rocco I estimated his weight to be about 20 pounds, so I was feeding him with about 11 ounces of food. I recently managed to check his weight and it is about 15 pounds. No wonder why he didn’t want to eat all the food he was getting. I thought he is sick, but he was just overfed. Read the rest of this entry »

Rocco likes to chew whatever he gets his teeth on. I bought a chain to protect some newspapers from him but after it fell next to him for a couple of times he decided that this is his new toy. Now he likes to chew metal things too. This includes some door and drawer handles in the corridor. Read the rest of this entry »

AMAZING
Rocco did not wake us up last night at all. On his third night at a new place he did not cry. He now recognizes his place and sleeps there.
During the day he still cries a couple of minutes after I leave him alone but then stops and gets busy with his toys or with whatever he finds.

Last night was very encouraging. Rocco woke us up just 3 – 4 times for the whole night. It seems that he gets hungry at some point, but I am not going to give him the privilege of eating during the night. This would most likely lead to even more sleepless nights. Read the rest of this entry »

Rocco is a little bit unhappy when left alone. He is used to have his brothers and sisters and his mom Berry around him. Now when I leave him alone he cries for about 5-10 minutes and then goes to sleep.
I will have to do some Home Alone exercises to teach him that it’s not that bad to be alone. Read the rest of this entry »
